Before the session members of the republican Parliament and Government listened to the musical composition performed by the State symphonic orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan and the choir of the Tatar State academic opera and ballet theatre at the Big State Concert Hall. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counselor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov participated in the event.

According to Chairman of the State anthem commission, Vice-chair of the State Council Rimma Ratnikova, the competition was indeed nationwide, variants had been received from different corners of republic and from other regions.
