December 3, Farid Mukhametshin met members of Monitoring Mission from the Commonwealth of Independent States: from Belorussia and Kazakhstan. The meeting was initiated by the observers. Members of the meeting discussed prospects of development of the united parliamentary space of the Union of Belorussia and Russia, strengthening of the democratic foundations of international cooperation. They also discussed the forthcoming elections to the State Duma.
“International observers from 12 countries will monitor the elections in Tatarstan,” said Farid Mukhametshin. “This is including representatives of the Mission of Bureau on democratic institutions and human rights, Organization for safety and cooperation in Europe, accredited by the Russian Central Election Committee as long-term foreign observers.”
