February 1, Farid Mukhametshin met Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan Reza Bagban Kondory who is to complete his diplomatic mission in Tatarstan.
During the meeting Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council thanked Mr Kondory for his personal contribution to development of cooperation between Iran and Tatarstan. The Consulate General was established in Kazan in 2007 and Reza Bagban Kondory has led the mission for more than 3 years. Farid Mukhametshin said that in previous years Tatarstan and Iran had exchanged official delegations and hold top-level meetings. “Distant Iran has become closer to us, although the potential of mutually beneficial cooperation in various spheres is far from being exhausted,” Farid Mukhametshin noted. “We are in the very beginning of the road and our future successes will be even more significant.”
Reza Bagban Kondory, in his turn, thanked Farid Mukhametshin for supporting the Kazan Consulate General’s activities in cultural, educational and other spheres. “We consider our mission in Kazan 100-percent fulfilled”, the diplomat said. At present the Iranian side supports the department of Russian-Iran society to the Kazan Federal University, Iranian centers to the Pedagogical University and Institute of History of the Kazan Science Academy; cinematographers from Iran take active part in the International Festival “Golden Minbar”, Iranian students study in Kazan universities. In the opinion of the Consul General, it is through active cooperation in humanitarian sphere that economical contacts between the republics will expand.
Reza Bagban Kondory also said he expected much from the possible visit by the Tatarstan parliamentary delegation to Iran. Farid Mukhametshin promised to plan the visit for the near future. He wished the diplomat fruitful and interesting work in his new position.
