Today Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin took part at the Nevsky International Ecological Congress "Ecology of the planet - sustainable development" held in St. Petersburg by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia under the aegis of the Federation Council with the participation of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the CIS.
Participants discussed the issues of natural resources management, environmental safety and legislative support of environmental initiatives.
According to Farid Mukhametshin, Tatarstan, like other regions of Russia, adopted a new reform on waste management, approved laws and regulations, determined regional waste operators. The launch of this reform contributed significantly to the growth of the ecological culture of the society.
The issues of antimonopoly control of the environmental sphere, tariff regulation and digital control of the industry were also on the agenda. One of the main goals of the Congress is to set coherent environmental policy not only in Russia, but in other countries as well.
