Open government principles are of special importance in Tatarstan. The republic has adopted various mechanisms and tools to promote transparency in the authorities' activities. More than 250 public services are provided in electronic form.
The most acute bills are available on the Internet so that citizens could be involved in their discussion.
“The new version of the Strategy of Social and Economic Development of the Republic of Tatarstan till 2030 caused wide discussion. In just 4 weeks we received more than 3.5 thousand proposals from citizens. They were carefully reviewed by experts,” Farid Mukhametshin said.
The Chairman noted the parliamentary project “Writing laws together” as one of the effective forms of civil initiative. “If citizens have any proposals for a new law or amendment, they can send them to the official website of the State Council. Thus we come closer to our citizens and expand the circle of those participating in the legislative process,” he said.
