H.E. Ambassador arrived to Kazan within the frameworks of the Day of Europe in our City. This is the second experience of such an event being held in Russian regions. The aim of the Day of Europe is to make it closer to the regions.

Mr. Farid Mukhametshin thanked the Ambassador for his attention to our Republic. He mentioned that this year the Day is mainly targeted at education. “This is very important, - said the Speaker, as we have two official languages in Tatarstan. All the documentation, i.e. legislation, edicts and so on are published in Tatar and Russian… We do implement a New Program on developing Tatarstan educational system (“The Kilechek” – “The Future” (in Tatar). And the rich experience of the European countries in this sphere has a paramount importance for us” – added the Speaker.

On his part, Mr. Valenzuela noted that the Tatarstan experience in safeguarding and developing the inter-ethnic and inter-confessional peace and accord is unique and should be extended in many countries in the EU. From his point of view, there is a lack of “inter-knowledge” between the Western and Eastern Europe, and the Concept of the Common Space binds us to know each other much better.
