Parliamentarians of Volga region studied Mari El experience

At the 50th jubilee meeting of the Volga Region Association of legislative bodies of state power the Russian Federation regions parliament leaders considered issues of legal regulation of vehicles passage and stop in greenspaces administrative accountability, housing and communal services, and regional cultural potential development. The meeting took place in Yoshkar-Ola under the presidency of Association coordinator, chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin.


Before the meeting the Association members visited Mari state opera and ballet theatre, national Presidential boarding school, republican puppet theatre, sport complex. While opening the plenary part of the meeting, Farid Mukhametshin said that it was in Yoshkar-Ola in 2001, during the meeting of heads of regional legislatures of Volga Federal District, that the decision on creation of the Association was taken.

Deputy Representative Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation President in the Volga Federal District Oleg Melnichenko greeted the audience. "In our federal district, we have the best possible form of work, when any representative of the Association may freely speak on any problem. This dialogue allows to create approaches and decisions that our country needs," he said.

Chairman of the Mari El State Assembly Yuri Minakov headed Farid Mukhametshin a souvenir Association baton made on occasion of the jubilee meeting. Yuri Minakov presented a report devoted to cultural, sport and tourist potential of The Mari El Republic. On results of discussions the members of Association intend to make Russian Government a proposal on development of a legal act that foresees amendments to the Traffic rules concerning a ban on vehicle passage and stop in greenspaces. Farid Mukhametshin reported on decisions made at previous meetings.
