A field session of the Council of the Tatarstan People's Assembly was held today in Mamadysh district. Heads of national-cultural autonomies, members of the Assembly's youth branch, executive and municipal authorities discussed the implementation of national politics in the republic. Chairman of the State Council, Chairman of the Council of the Tatarstan People's Assembly Farid Mukhametshin chaired the meeting.
"I would like to review the results of our common work during this year," Farid Mukhametshin said, while opening the Plenary meeting. "The most important thing is that the Tatarstan People's Assembly and its offices in towns and villages have become the place that unites all peoples living in Tatarstan". Head of the parliament informed about the adoption of the new version of the Concept of state ethnic politics of Tatarstan. The republic implements programs aimed at the development of national cultures, to keep interethnic and interconfessional peace. At present there are 7 Houses of friendship – in Kazan, Nabarezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Mendeleyevsk, Tetyushi, Nurlat and Leninogorsk.
"We need to understand the specificity of interethnic and interconfessional relations that have no final solution and need constant attention, especially during the crisis periods like the one we live in now, " he said. "In complicated international situation, it's very important to keep peace and friendship and to remember that our priority is interethnic peace and accord in the republic".
In conclusion, Farid Mukhametshin awarded active members of national-cultural autonomies. "Every day do something for your people, keep your homes, the peace and accord that we have in our multiethnic republic."
