On August 6 Tatarstan State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin attended the II Festival of small tourist towns “Naturalness of traditions” and the All-Russian Spasskaya Fair held in Elabuga.
F. Mukhametshin welcomed the participants of the festival on behalf of the republic’s leadership. He said that such events help preserving the traditions of the multinational Russia.
“Recently, business and tourism industries in Tatarstan have been given a lot of attention. We are using every opportunity to acquaint Russians and people from all over the world with historical and cultural values of Tatarstan”.
The festival is organized by the Association of small tourist towns with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Its mission is to create a positive image of the Russian provinces and promotion of modern approaches to the development of small towns through the historical and cultural resources with the use of modern technologies in the field of culture. This year the project was implemented with the support of Elabuga municipal district and Elabuga State Museum-Reserve. The first festival was launched last year in Uglich, the next will be held in Suzdal.
