Farid Mukhametshin: “Council of Legislators is the best platform to discuss development of parliamentarism” |

On April 29 Tatarstan Parliament Speaker Farid Mukhametshin attended the Russian Legislators’ meeting devoted to the 110th anniversary of the Russian parliamentarism. The meeting was chaired by the Chairwoman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and Chairman of the State Duma Sergey Naryshkin. The event was held in the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg. Later, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin met with the participants.

Today in Moscow, at the board meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Tatarstan Parliament Speaker, Chairman of the Current Affairs Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe Farid Mukhametshin was awarded a Badge of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation “For contribution to International Cooperation”.

Farid Mukhametshin urged European colleagues to strengthen the fight against terrorism |

On March 22 Tatarstan Parliament Speaker Farid Mukhametshin chaired a meeting of the Current Affairs Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe. During the meeting he informed the European colleagues about the terrorist attacks at Brussels airport and a metro station. Parliamentarians honored the memory of the victims with a moment of silence.
